Itinerary: Caribbean - Western
We loved the ship, which is new & beautiful. The New Years parties were OK, but what realy made the night was the Capt. opened up the bars & champagne flowed everywhere. We are not sure that the West Carib is the best area for that time of year - mostly cool & rainy.
We just loved the Observation lounge - Pacific Rim atmosphere was deligthful.
Our favorite spot was the Horizon's Rest. You need to have reservations but no extra charge. The intimacy & decorations have led it to be nicknamed by staff as the "Orient Express". Food quality overall was very good to excellent.
We had a cabin with balcony & could have used more closet & shelf space. The cabins are generally small but they are well appointed & efficient.
NCL's entertainment is the best that we have seen on the seas.
We took two of NCL's tours & were disappointed in both. Our Jamaica "sail" was nothing more than a motorized trip around the anchored ships. IN Nassau the guide did not complete the tour. When we complained to NCL they promptly refunded a portion of our fee.
Our cruise was in partial chaos. Too many young kids running around the ship all hours of the night. Large groups of families would take over a section of the buffet or lounge & never leave. This would shut out others from the area - very annoying in the Buffet where tables were in short supply.
