Overview
Overall, a wonderful cruise. Roomy staterooms, above average service and "freestyle" makes this a completely effort-free cruise!

Public Areas
Lots of room on the decks - more than enough lounge chairs. Didn't like that you had to walk though smoking areas to get to dining areas, though. Lots of BIG windows in dining rooms & lounge areas for viewing the great scenery.

Food and Service
Food was average. Often a little cold or tasteless. Sports bar had a good breakfast buffet. The Trattoria (Italian cuisine only) probably had the best food overall. We didn't try the LeBistro because there was a $10 coverage charge per person and the menu didn't change from night to night.

Cabins
We were on Caribbean deck (the bottom!) in an outside cabin & were VERY pleased with it! Lots of room, two large portholes for viewing, plenty of closet space and it was quiet. We didn't find the plumbing problems we had heard of on this ship at all.

Entertainment
Entertainment was above average. Off-Broadway quality & the cruise staff was helpful, but not abrasive. "Liars Club" performance was HYSTERICAL & rivaled "Whose Line It?" TV show, in our opinion! Information office, Mary, was "informational" but we didn't care for her shopping recommendations - too pricey for us "normal" people on a budget! There are better bargains to be had ashore!

Activities
We stopped at Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan & Haines. All shore excursions, from what we heard, were decent. Ours (Yukon Territory by bus, Mendenhall Glacier by bus, Eagle Preserve by bus & Saxman Village tour) were all very well done, except that we didn't see a single bald eagle on that tour - saw more in town! Didn't use the pool or health club.

Who Goes
Most of the passengers on this trip were "white haired" retirees from UK, Canada & US. We enjoyed that (we are early 50-ish), but younger couples might enjoy a more "youthful" crowd. We actually exchanged names & addresses with several to keep in touch.
