Itinerary: Caribbean
This was our first cruise and we got exactly what we expected. Everything was as described in the brochure. It is extremely good value for a cruise of this type and we certainly want to book with Ocean Village again.
The public areas are very clean, tidy and nicely decorated. One side of the ship is dedicated to non-smokers so you have the choice as to whether you want to smoke or not. The two pools were spotless, as were the surrounding sun decks. The walk around promenade was perfect for watching the ship come into harbour.
The service was second to none. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was no queueing at the bars as all drinks could be ordered by the waiters/waitresses who mingled with the passengers wherever there was a bar - even by the pools. The food was very good and plentiful. My husband is an extremely fussy eater and even he had no complaints.
The cabins are huge. More than enough hanging and drawer space. The showers were big enough for two and very powerful. Our cabin (F126) was extremely quiet - didn't hear anything from other cabins during our whole 2 weeks on board. The safe, fridge and air conditioning work extremely well and do not cost extra.
We attended quite a few of the shows/comedy nights and on the whole found them very good.
The itinerary was one of our reasons for booking with Ocean Village, since the ship called at more different ports of call than any other ship in its class (11 in all). A huge range of excursions was on offer, but we did our own thing on a few occasions which worked out much cheaper than booking through Ocean Village.
The other passengers ranged from 18 to 65 year olds, but I would say were mostly in the 40-55 age range.
