Itinerary: Mediterranean

My main reason for going on Canberra was that my grandfather was
on the Maiden Voyage. I went on two cruises on the Canberra, one in the
Mediterranean and one in the South Pacific. Both cruises were fabulous and
I loved them.

All the public areas were great. I loved the Cricketers Room
as it was known pre 1988 - from South Pacific travel.

The food was great, always something magnificent to choose
from. Buffet was on every day and midnight buffet too!!! Great.

I had a twin share in the South Pacific on a lower deck, but in 1988
I had a share twin on A deck - both were great though, although the A deck
was larger!

Entertainment was great and the crew were wonderful and
friendly. Met a fellow Kiwi (New Zealander) who was working on it also from
Christchurch.
I stopped at most ports in the South Pacific as I went on quite
a few cruises there. I also went on the Oriana three times and the Island
Princess once. I had a facial on the Island Princess and it was great -
loved it. Didn't have children at the time, so not really up on that,
although I saw the children's play that was put on and we sat with two
cruise directors for children on one cruise and they were great with the
kids. Heaps to do day and night - never a dull moment and if you do want a
quiet time, there is the Library.
My fellow passengers were great and from my very first cruise I made a great friend and we still write to each other. She too is from New
Zealand. A great way to meet people.
