Itinerary: Mexico-Eastern
Overall the cruise was good and we had a good time. The ship
layout is very confusing, everyone was lost at first.
The last night of the cruise was ruined when my husband went by Club Europa
to get our 11 year old son. When he went into the club, the DJ was playing
extremely vulgar and profane music. When he went to discuss this with
someone, the DJ told him that was not allowed in the kid's club. No one at
the main desk was interested or did anything about it. They just blew him
off!!!Hopefully, this was an isolated incident?????? Basically, I think we
paid too much for this cruise. Go only if you get a real good deal!
The public areas were very clean, but the chairs were not always very comfortable. The pools were small, the casino nice, but a really money pit.
The food was very good in the main dining room and buffets. Get the cherries jubilee! Service of the waiters, room steward, bar staff
was excellent most of the time. One time we were 2 minutes late to the lunch
buffet and they would not let us eat even though others were still going
through the line.
Cabin was small, but adequate. The cabin and bathrooms were kept
very clean.
Entertainment was good, especially the latin band Mallcu and Island Magic.
Parents are not allowed in the kid's Club Europa. Maybe because
they are playing dirty music and do not want parents to hear. Club Europa
staff was rude when asking parents to leave. There were a lot of other
activities to keep them busy such as pool games, scavenger hunts, etc.
The stop at Vera Cruz Mexico was OK. People in Vera Cruz were not overly
friendly and made fun of the tourists. Do the rafting excursion in Vera
Cruz. Playa del Carmen was nice, but too little time. I suggest that you
just go to the beach since there is not enough time to do anything else. We
could not get off the ship until 1:30 since the boat was not docked and
tenders were used. You could take a ferry to Cozumel at your own expense if
you wanted to meet the ship. Cozumel was nice, but also too short a stay. We
were given 2 hours less than advertised on the itinerary.
Nice passengers of all ages.
