Premier Cruises

SS Seawind Crown

Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern

Overview
Last year for my honeymoon, my husband and I went on a trip to Aruba followed by a cruise on the Seawind Crown. We only stayed on the ship for 3 out of the 7 days because it was so awful. Construction throughout the ship - use of toxic adhesives, noxious fumes were re-circulated throughout the ship, no A/C in cabin, live bugs in food, filthy pools (never emptied) terrible food - buffet breakfast same everyday - lunches = leftovers from previous nights dinners, no theatre, no piano in "Piano Bar", no activities for individuals under 65. After filing a complaint with the cruise line, we were offered a future cruise on a Premier cruise ship to be used within 1 yr. AS IF...

Public Areas
Public areas, many inaccessible due to construction. Crew painted pool deck while people were sunbathing on it -- right under your chairs! Walk-around promenade, if there was one you couldn't walk around it due to construction work - sawhorses, paint, saws, etc. Pools were disgusting, never emptied - both salt water full of refuse, hair & tanning lotion.

Food and Service
All buffets were horrible, same food was brought out each day for breakfast and lunch (deli meats, cheese, etc.) Lunches were leftovers from previous evenings dinners. After hours and daytime buffets consisted of same deli meats and cheeses and leftovers.

Cabins
Cabin had no a/c - construction being performed outside of cabin throughout duration of cruise, hammering began at 6:00am each morning. Bathroom in desperate need of renovation.

Entertainment
Yes, young group of entertainers - not bad, but not great, retired Four Seasons singer - should stay retired. Juggler - okay. Not fun shows, a lot of smokers in crowd made it unpleasant.

Activities
On board the ship was absolutely miserable. Went to Curacao and walked around the streets - reminiscent of Fordham Road in the Bronx, many cheap electronics stores. Not much by way of culture/tourist value. Caracas took bus tour to glass factory, very interesting, highlight of trip. Left ship mid-cruise so did not get to see Barbados or St. Lucia.

Who Goes
Ewwwww!!! Never. The people on the ship were rude, went to buffets and lunches in wet bathing suits (thongs, etc.), barefoot, ate directly from buffet stations while in line! Not many English speaking passengers, mostly Venezuelan.
