Itinerary: Mediterranean
This is and was a great first cruise. The ship is small, capacity of 700 passengers and very intimate. The staff knew most of the passengers by their names and where they were from on the first day, which made you feel very welcomed. Unfortunately, the ship has been chartered by a Spanish tour company and everything was in Spanish until the second day of the cruise, when the Cruise Director made sure the announcements, menus and tours where in English.
The public areas where clean and just updated last year. The pools where small but the water was changed every day. The casino was very update with the latest slot machines and the tables were very well maintained. The disco was on the small size, but by the time the disco opened, it was 1:00 am so we did not spend to much time in the disco.
The food and the service were excellent. You had a choice for breakfast, either buffet or formal sit down breakfast. Most of the time we were off the ship for lunch. They served a snack (sandwiches, cookies, fruit, pastries, etc.) at 5:00 pm. Dinner was magnificent. You had four entrees to choose from and if you did not like the choices, the chef was willing to make you anything you wanted, within reason. The waiters, busboys and wine steward could not have been nicer. It was if you were the only people in the dinning room and they had all the time in the world for you.
We had an outside deluxe cabin. It had a king size bed, two mirrored closets and three small dressers. There was also a writing desk and chair. The bathroom was large and had a full size tub and shower and plenty of storage space in the bathroom for your items. The only problem that we had is that my husband and I are both 6 foot tall and when we showered, we had to bend at the knees to get under the shower head.
We did not attend any of the shows because they were all in Spanish and we did not understand them.
Our itinerary was as follows: Barcelona, Spain Cannes, Monto Carlo and Monaco, France Pisa, Lucca, Rome and Naples, Italy Marjorrca, Spain Back to Barcelona To busy ashore to do any activities on board during the day and to tired at night to do any activities at night.
My husband and I, along with another couple, we were the only Americans on board. Everyone else was Spanish. But we had a wonderful time and we were invited to sit at the captain's table, since the captain did not speak Spanish but spoke English. The passengers ranged from the age of mid 20's to 70 years of age.
