This ship is our heaven. Every detail of it was perfect. This was our first cruise, and it is now the only vacation we will take. We have booked passage on the new golden princess for the fall. We can only hope it is as good as the grand. We know it could not be better.
For a ship of 2600 passengers we found ourselves all alone on several occasions. Loved the casino (though I am not a big gambler). The lounges were great.
Food was excellent. There was 24 hour dining on the horizon court, and we had many late night snacks there. The pizza at pool side was great. He ate three lobster tails in one night.
We had a room with a balcony which I would highly recommend. We had coffee there every morning, and watched sunsets while drinking champagne. Cabins were very comfortable with plenty of closet space. Showers were ok, too.
Went to two shows a night, all of them were excellent. The cruise director was wonderful, he and his staff put on an excellent show. Marty allen was the comedian, we laughed until our mouths hurt. The disco was great!! Went there every night.
We went scuba diving, which was great on st. Martin. We also had a great tour of st. Thomas, and spent a wonderful day lounging on the beach at princess cay. There were four pools, all of them great. We liked to relax and lounge during the day and party at night.
We made friends with two other couples and have corresponded with them since the cruise. One lives in california so we have not been able to see them. The other couple also lives in ny, and we went to their wedding!!
