Itinerary: Caribbean
I felt that the ship was too big and you just keep getting lost
where ever you go. I would never take a Princess Cruise again, I was not
impressed and from what I understand from a friend that cruises the Dawn
Princess every year everyone had the same opinion of the Grand Princess. I
will stick to Celebrity Cruise Lines, when sailing on them I have never had
a complaint. I almost forgot on the Grand Princess you never need to carry
a sweater unless your going into the Casino the rest of the ship doesn't
know what air conditioner's are.
You would figure the ship is so big that their is plenty of
room pool side to lounge well that's a joke get out early or you'll be either
by the kiddie pool or two decks above the pool and on my vacation the last
thing I want is to be by is screaming children.
The disco was great but the dance floor is too small.
I did enjoy the casino the staff was very pleasant.
The food I would rate a 3 1/2. Breakfast in the room was a joke, the fruit wasn't ripe.
Lunch was in the Horizon Court and was pretty good.
Dinner was good and our waiter's were great it's too bad they both left the
ship right after us. Always order the ice cream at dinner it's wonderful.
I was very disappointed with the dirty rooms and the mildewed shower
curtain. I also didn't like that the balcony's were not private, people on
other floors could see us and I like to sit and have breakfast in my PJ's.
We had plenty of closet space but were short on drawer space. The blower
dryer was powerful so I was glad I didn't pack my own.
We did bingo everyday and horse racing and we really enjoyed
it. I guess you can say we like to gamble so I'm glad we live in NY and not
Vegas. The staff was great, I would rate them a 5.
The health club was on the small side and always crowded and you
had to sign-up for the treadmills. We went to St. Thomas and shopped I didn't find gold to be cheap and liquor was reasonable. In St. Maarten we shopped again and the jewelery was cheaper and the liquor
was too. Their own private island in the Bahamas was o.k. if you seen one you seen
them all, take advantage of this ship at this time.
The ship was so big you barely saw the same people twice. Even the
couple we had dinner with we only saw three times. The people that we met
were very nice and I still keep in touch by E:Mail.
