We had a wonderful experience on a 21-day repositioning cruise
from Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale, through the Panama Canal. I would like to take this cruise again, because I feel that 21 days was not enough to see everything. I highly recommend cruising, and plan to go again in 1999 and as often as I can thereafter.
Very comfortable. We liked all of the public rooms. We had
no favorites. There was a walk-around promenade. I managed to walk three miles everyday on the promenade dick. The only drawback was the
cigar-smoking gentleman that always smoked on this deck. I think all
smoking should be banned on cruise ships.
The food service was excellent, including room service. The
buffet was great for breakfast and lunch. We ate in our assigned dining room every night, except twice.
We had an outside cabin with a private verandah. There was ample
closet space, however, on as long a trip as we took, we could have used a little more space for all the formal wear we brought along. The shower was adequate. We thought the bathroom was too small overall, but it really didn't bother us much. Our cabin was across the hall from the room service depository for dirty dishes.
The entertainment was fine although it was a bit loud.
Shore excursions were great.
It was quite a mixed crowd with more people from Europe than I expected. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.
