Itinerary: Caribbean - Eastern
We have had a great holiday on the sun princess and have rebooked for next year, we prefer to be in a lower cabin so we chose the emerald deck, just walk out of the door and its near the shops and dining room, one floor below is the reception and one floor above is the lounge and theaters and the promenade.
The public areas are very comfortable were you can relax and listen to the pianist playing quietly in the background, the wheelhouse bar is very nice to have a drink and a dance before dinner, there is no shortage of sun beds but on the promenade deck they could do with a few more.
The dining rooms are excellent and the service is good with a good choice of food and it was always hot ,to me that is the main thing , Through the day we ate in the Horizon Court and always had a good choice.
Our cabin was quite nice not as big as the Carnival Cruise Ship but we had no complaint The bathroom was compact as you expect on a ship ,My husband is six foot tall and he had no problem with it.
We attended all the shows and the dancers worked very hard
but the content of their shows was not to our liking ,the other shows a male singer,a comedian , ventriloquist and juggler were excellent, The cruise staff were all very polite and helpful each and everyone you met.
During the mornings we relaxed on the promenade deck then in the afternoons we would go to the lounge and have a drink
join in the quiz and the craft sessions we never made use of the pool but other cruisers seemed to be enjoying it ,at night we would go for a dance before dinner and to a show after .
we went on a couple of excursions
My husband and I are both in our seventies and at dinner we were seated with two young couples who were in their twenties which I thought was a bit rough on them but we all got on well together and got to know each other very well. They came from America and we come from England so it was nice to exchange thoughts. We would recommend the Sun princess but i think it is for the over forties age, although the two young couples enjoyed the holiday.
