BEWARE OF PRINCESS' BOOKING POLICIES. Ship overall could have
been quite comfortable had Princess not sandbagged the majority of its
passengers with hundreds of children from Mexico City going free as a result
of a "special" run in Mexico City to fill its cabins. Children were not
supervised and simply ran rampant with their destructive and rude behavior
24 hours a day.
Entire ship overrun with marauding children; pool rendered
unusable by mature adults because of children, adult physical altercations
at pool; could not keep children out of casino.
Was not served a hot meal in formal dining entire trip; had
1 waiter and 1 assistant waiter trying to serve 20 people; no wine steward;
courses were forgotten; entrees served at room temperature; elaborate
desserts were short-cut rip offs, and the list goes on. Dinners were more
closely akin to being at an overcrowded McDonald's because of children.
Showers are too small;inadequate storage space; could not get toilet
cleaned or dirty glasses removed from room.
Show entertainment material was not up to par; shows could
not be enjoyed because of marauding children throwing things at performers
on stage.
Itinerary was good; activities simply could not be enjoyed as
everything on the ship was overrun with marauding children.
Dinner companions were absolutely wonderful and we are keeping in
touch. Sadly, 3 of 5 couples will not ever cruise Princess again because
this was a trip from hell as Princess dumped its unbooked cabins on market
in Mexico City with children going free; problems were so bad some people
left the ship in Panama and paid their own way home. My letter of complaint
to Princess is 5-1/2 pages (which is about the same length as other letters
of complaint), but thus far Princess has failed to respond to complaints.
Crew was simply unprepared for onslaught of small children and refused to
take any affirmative action to stop the destructive and rude behavior of
these undisciplined children.
