Date of Trip: January 11, 2003
Itinerary: Caribbean
The Diamond is especially designed for the older customer looking for relaxation and certainly is not for the younger person.
The Windows lounge for shows is very comfortable and the Splash Bar on top deck is also nice. The Club is poor, no music is played to dance to, just a quiet piano being played in the corner.
Swimming pool and gym area's are excellent especially the whirlpool, sunbathing is also spacious.
Food and service were both excellent. The waiting staff were always friendly, helpful and quick. They were always there when you needed them.
The 7 course meal in the Dining Room was first class including the service. The Grill was also good food and excellent service.
Cabin was very good, more space than other cruise ships, nice bathroom, and of course a TV. The cabins were all very quiet, and basically no noise could be heard from the engine room.
The shows were mediocre, i have seen better performances on other ships. The main disappointment was the late start, at 10 pm until 11 pm and this was it for the night.
The activities available on the ship were a lot less than advertised on the itinerary. Ports included Barbados, Puerto Rico and St Kitts.
The pool could be bigger, but overall the pool area and spa were spacious. The gym and health areas were excellent quality..
The other passengers were mostly retired 60+years old. I would not say I made friends with any passengers.
