Radisson Seven Seas Cruises

MS Seven Seas Navigator

Your Rating:Three Stars

Date of Trip: June 2, 2004
Itinerary: Mediterranean

Overview
Officers and Cruise Director were not friendly or interactive at all. The Cruise Director and his assistant (his wife) were not as far as I could tell involved with the passengers. I sat beside the Cruise Director several times in a lounge and he never spoke to me or any one around me. The crew were very friendly as were the stewards and the butler and the bar staff.

Public Areas
The ship and public rooms were very stunning, but seemed hardly used. The Clubs and bars were virtually empty after 9 PM. At the cost of the cruise the fact that the bars drinks are extra is kinda tacky. I would rather they added an extra $200 to the cruise instead of having every one sign checks all day long.

Food and Service
The food at the pool cafe was not good at all. breakfast every day was the same fare for 7 days, with no changes. The food and menu in the Italian restaurant was also the same for the entire cruise. It was above average but not great. Food and service in the main dining room was better, but not up to what was advertised. After the food on Seabourn Legend and Pride, Radisson is very disappointing.

Cabins
Cabin was excellent. Full sized shower was great and lots of hot water. The balcony, while nice, is small and when in the Caribbean or Bermuda with the hot weather was not much fun to go relax there.

Entertainment
Very good. The dancers and singers were great. Best was a cooking demo put on by D magazine from Dallas and they brought 4 chefs with them. The cruise line really had no part in this other than providing space and equipment.

Activities
The ship went to New York and then to Bermuda. I have been to Bermuda several times and it is a great place. We were berthed in both Hamilton and in St George.

Who Goes
The passengers were not interactive with each other at all. They remained mostly in 2's and 4's. As stated, at night the bars, clubs and shows were sparsely utilized. Several of the crew remarked that this was indeed a very strange crowd, not friendly at all. There seemed to be many unhappy people on board.
