Itinerary: Transatlantic
Beautiful new ship with all of the latest in cruise technology, dining options, activities and entertainment. Well
appointed and beautifully decorated cabins. Large ship that doesn't feel crowded even when full. You shouldn't miss this one,
especially if you haven't been on one of the new large ships.
Public areas are well planned and very accommodating. Range from large areas to small and cozy. Never a feeling of
being crowded. We especially liked the Seaview Cafe, aft on deck 12. Great gym for those that maintain exercise programs. Special
walking/jogging track outside of the gym (6 times per mile). Multiple pools (indoors and outdoors) that fit all tastes. Casino is
typical of most. Miniature golf is neat as are the "self leveling" pool tables in the Colony Club, Deck 6.
Food was excellent where ever it was served. Main dining room service was very good at dinner but slow at open
seating lunch and breakfast (new ship so probably some growing pains here). Lunch and breakfast buffets in the Windjammer were very
good, excellent access and good seating. Didn't use optional dining services but spoke to those that did, mixed reactions on value
for the extra cost.
Cabin on deck 2, outside, mid-ship, small porthole, was great. Card key entry system using on-board charge/identification
card. Twin beds that make a queen, bath larger than other ships we have been on with good storage space for toiletries. Good closet
and drawer space, luggage fits under the beds. TV, hair dryer and safe nice touches. Only negative is no overhead light by the
closet so you can't see inside the closet very well.
Went to all of the on-board entertainment shows (transatlantic crossing with no stops). Not much different than on
other ships, some very good, others need "polish", but a good variety (singers, dancers, guitar player, magician, etc.)
Transatlantic crossing with no stops. On-board activities plentiful, makes for a full day if you desire. Gym,jogging,
walking, sauna, golf, basketball, swimming, rock climbing wall, bingo, horse racing, casino, lectures, seminars, learning activities, computer center, library, sports bar/tv sports, etc.
This cruise was mostly older, well traveled couples with many cruises under their belts. Some honeymooners and some
families (good children services and facilities on-board). Also many from England (where cruise started) as well as Germany, Italy, New Zealand & Australia.
