Itinerary: Caribbean - Southern
This was the best ship and itinerary that we have been on. Laid
back atmosphere. Lots of room to explore and things to do. Great Cruise
Director.Very busy itinerary. In Antigua, there are so many great beaches,
just find a Taxi Driver -tell him the type of beach you are after and off
you go! Our driver proved to be very knowledgeable and was back on time to take us
back
The Viking Crown Lounge offers a wonderful view , but was
always too quite for our taste. Enjoyed the Atrium. Dining Rooms are both
directly off the Atrium. For a ship this large it is very easy to find your
way around. There was always sufficient seating on the sun decks, and the 2
pools are nicely laid out.
Food was good but i"ve had better (NCl). Service was the
best. By the time a few days had gone by, our waiter knew everyones likes ,
etc. Joked with everyone, very approachable. Both Dining Rooms were well laid
out, with lots of windows. Very bright. We had early seating and we would be
starting our Dinner as the ship was pulling out. Great atmosphere!
We had an interior cabin and had our 14 year old son with us. We had
2 twin beds that converted to a double, and our son had a single that
dropped down from the ceiling. He loved it. I won't tell you that the rooms
are big, but they are efficiently laid out. Lots of closet and drawer space.
Bathroom is passable.we were midship and it was quiet and stable. Our room
steward kept the room to perfection
Variety of entertainment. Something for everyone. We really
enjoyed the comedian and variety acts. They had the Vegas revue type, didn't
enjoy that. This was our 4th cruise and the cruise staff on this ship were the best.
Enjoyed the late nite events on the pool deck . Not to be missed, doesn't
matter if you participate or if you just watch.
Did the S. Caribbean. Very busy itinerary. Loved St . Thomas,
St. Maarten, and Antigua. Disappointed in Martinique and Barbados. Went to
Harrisons caves in Barbados. Not worth the money or time. Went to Pinel
Island (St. Maarten ) for snorkeling. Very nice beach, but waves were high
that day and it made it a more exhausting day.Great just to have a drink
downtown on beach and watch the people and the harbour
We had a table for 10 and had requested teens at the table for our
son. Our request was filled, and everyone got along great. Went to the
shows, etc as a group after our dinner. Still stay in touch with them.
Certainly would consider these people as friends, no matter what the setting.
