This ship despite what other people say is very good. The simplicity and the overall layout is very nice and easy to move about. This cruise was very laid back and not very fancy like others i've been on. Embarkation was smooth but San juan was disgusting.
The public areas where very bright and filled with pastels and other vibrant colors. Like I said very simply laid out so you could find the dinning room and the theater with ease. Loved the dinning room the best even tho on night when it was rough there was a lot of grunting coming from the props.
People say that the Nordic Empress is a training ship but it is not. The cabin steward was very pleasant and even folded the dirty laundry and put it in the bags. The waiter was extremely skilled and even remembered our names. The captain was seen roaming around engaging in converysation and the bartenders would remember my name and give me free soda.
The cabin was showing signs of aging even tho they where in great shape for her age. They where big enough to accommodate 2 people and stow luggage and personal belongings. We had an ocean view on deck 5. Lots of room. Unlike her sister ship Viking Serenade.
Entertainment is a must see. Lots of laughs from the comedy shows.
Good itinerary. Activities for Southern Caribbean consist a lot of tours and water.
Anyone goes unless you are veryy picky and like fancy dinners and perfect gigantic cabins.
