Itinerary: Alaska
If you like Art Deco and fabulous public areas this is the ship for you!
The atrium was a constant lure, good music, great bar service, 9 stories of 'people watching'. The enclosed pool was fabulous...what else can you do on a rainy day but swim! We spent an entire day just looking at the artwork throughout the ship.
Food was on par with any other ship in this price range...the buffet was better than usual with plenty of seating so you weren't left holding your plate. We accidentaly came upon a 'Salmon Wellington' one afternoon when we swore we were not going to eat another bite of food till dinner...rules were made to be broken!
Our cabin (balcony) was outfitted to look like a stateroom on a nice private yacht. Nice wood, lush fabrics and the necessary...fridge, hair dryer and plenty of storage space.
Entertainment was average for the price range except for one red headed crew member that had us in stitches and she rambled through the ship outrageously dressing and extremely dingy...she entertained us before the shows and was better than the show. Costumes (my forte) were just high school level quality.
More than enough to do.
Passengers were some of the best we have traveled with in years...could have been the date, so close to 9/11. There was very limited seat holding (and the horrible put the book and the towel on the chaise at 10 am) and other rude activities...
