Itinerary: Mediterranean
Ship is tastefully decorated, and easy to navigate. public areas
were nice, although not as nice as some other ships of this size. Ships
staff was very nice and there was no noticeable attitude from any one we
encountered who worked for this ship. This is the fastest cruise ship in
the world, and it does move, rocking, etc. when cruising at speed.
The dining room was by far, the nicest area of the ship.
There are a number of 2 top tables with view. main lounge was also nice
with nice view to the stage. Pool was very small, and deck space is
somewhat limited. There is no wrap around promenade, and all of the forward
topside decks are off limits when the ship is underway(due to high winds
from the fast cruising speed)
Food service was just O.K. The portions were very small.
The variety was O.K. The midnight buffet was extremely poor, just leftovers
from dinner and lunch, served from a steamtable. No elaborate displays or
Ice sculptures here. We were very disappointed. Fortunately for us, our
waiter Spyro, never blinked when we both ordered double appetizers and
entrees from the second night out. It was the only way to leave the table
feeling full. Room service was very prompt, hover they did bring us food
with out any eating utensils, twice. They also had a habit of running out
of things like, soup, salad dressing.
Our cabin was very nice. It is the first time we have cruised with
out a balcony, and we were wondering how we would like it. It was small,
but tastefully decorated and very efficient. It had plenty of closet
space, great lighting, a large window, and a clean, well lit bathroom. The
shower was a nice size with good water pressure. The large artwork in our
cabin was framed with real glass. The sip does rock and move about
noticeably. During some movement of the ship, I lost my balance and fell
into the picture, shattering the glass piece into the bed, and cutting my
self in three places. The cabin steward just made the bed again the next
night with broken glass pieces in it. I could nt believe she did that.
Maybe she just didnt like us
O.K.
The shore excursions were the highlight of the trip for me. We
went to the giza pyramids, wailing wall, church of the holy sepulcher, blue
mosque, grand bazaar, and more. The guides were informative and
knowledgeable. The motorcaoches were top notch. Royal olympic surely has
this part right.
Variety of americans and europeans with a wide range of ages from small kids to older adults. Probably 1/2 american.
