The cruise from Athens to istanbul was extremely well-handled. However, Renaissance Cruises regularly uses American Trans Air charter flights; we were delayed almost 5 hours to and 9 hours from our destination; a June 1st mailing 19 days before the trip still had two choices of NYC airports. The brochure stated nonstop, yet we had a stop going to Athens. The air part is contracted out by Renaissance; however, they should be responsible for its failures.
Public areas very comfortable.
Buffet on panorama deck was almost always excellent and provided many choices. The Italian Restaurant was the most elegant and had the best food; the Grill Room was very clubby and good for late night dining; it had superlatively cooked meats, even lobster one night.
160 square feet cabin; medium size bathroom with good size shower. Quiet. Some corridor noise in early morning.
N/A - too tired
Stopped at Santorini, Rhodes, Ephesus. Athens and Istanbul pre and post cruise. The ship had a smallish pool but a good sundeck with sun and shade.
Ages 30s-50's; a dozen children. Mostly travel hounds and comfortable family groups.
