Renaissance Cruises

MS R Three

Your Rating:Two Stars

Date of Trip: September 4, 2000
Itinerary: South Pacific

Overview
Lost 2 days at the START of our trip due to fuel shortage. After buying a B cabin Renaissance Cruises only gave us 150.00 per person as compensation. Then on the LAST day in Tahiti (Sunday) they cancelled our tours. There is NOTHING to do in Tahiti on Sunday! Everything is closed.

WE LOST 3 DAYS! We paid $6,200 for the cabin, spent $3,800 on the boat and another $1,400 to upgrade our air. In all over $10,000 to Renaissance Cruises for a 10 day cruise. If we lost 3 days they should give each cabin $3,000 not $300.00

At the BBQ's they won't make your food the way you want it! Everything is well done. Rubber, hard, burnt hamburgers. Everyone in our group got sick one night from the food.

We wanted to get off the boat and stay in Bora Bora and they would not let us. They said we would have to pay our own way home. Renaissance Cruises "NOT"!

Public Areas
Pool small but clean. Hot tubs empty on the last night when we wanted to take a 12:00AM dip with a bottle of wine! Why at ANY point on a cruise would you empty ALL the hot tubs on the ship. Library nice room. Casino cute.

Food and Service
Food was fair. Buffet was better when I was in School. Service in Grill, Club and Italian Rest. good. Short order cooks who deal with public at BBQ everyday are rude and don't care how you want your food. Take it the way it is!! Had words with them twice. They won't make your meat rare, med-rare or med. Everything is like rubber.

Cabins
First night - Panel between outside terrace was making a lot of noise, flapping in the wind. They had to fix it. B Cabin was nice, a little too dark in and around the closet. Hard to see the safe, cloths and refrig. Person can fit in shower. Need more light in Bathroom too.

Entertainment
Show was "cute".

Activities
Health club nice! Out of towels a lot. No bench to do sit-ups. But a lot of equipment to choose from. Aerobic Classes and nice staff.

Our outing booked through Renaissance Cruises on Sunday in Tahiti was cancelled. Nothing to due, Tahiti is closed on Sunday.

Who Goes
Two couples were very nice.
