am very happy, to have done this Cruise with SWITZERLAND II of Scylla Tours in Basel, Switzerland.
The Ship was under full Year-round Charter of INTRAV, St. Louis, USA.
The Ship has an Crew of 25 and an Capacity of 100 Persons, Intrav has only 32 on Board, so they sell the other Places cheap to Germans, Dutch and Swiss Cruisegoers.
The overall Experience is 4 Stars and an Plus. They have no weak Points and everything works perfect. Service Girls are from Slovakia, the Officers, Chief cook Monique and Management from the Netherlands. Very experienced and friendly, well working People.
With my own Experience of more than 20 Years and 38 Cruises in most Parts of the World I can say: this Cruise and Company, as the Itineraries are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Fine Restaurant, very well equipped. Generous Deck Space, sheltered and open. Big Lounge with an very attractive
Interior. Nice Bar. No Swimming Pool.
Food was in the Dining Room, an cold/warm Buffet for Breakfast, with plenty of Choice and high Quality Items.
For Lunch an fixed Menu with Soup, Salad, Entree and 2 Products beside, Dessert, Coffee/Tea.
Instead of the Menu you can choose from an Warm/Cold Buffet or order the Light Cuisine Meny.
Evening with Appetizer, Soup, Salad, 2 Menues and 1 Vegetarian extra, Dessert, Coffee/Tea.
They use only high Quality Products.
The Food is of an excellent Preparation and served well. The Menus for Lunch and Dinner are explained by the Manager and his Assistant in English and German Language, before you choose.
Round the Clock there is hot and cold Water with Ice Cubes for free, as is Coffee and Tea and some Crackers.
The Chief cook Monique from the Netherlands got an very good Offer of Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York, so it is possible, she is missed next Season.
Very well equipped, spacious Cabins with TV, Safe, Telephone, Closet, Shower and high Quality Furniture. The Ship is
renovated in 2001. The Cabin was quite except one false Alarm in the Morning of one Day. The Bell was ringing, so i looked at the Reception Desk, what is on. It was an false Alarm,
The Cruise Staff was very good, for Entertainment there was for the Americans an very good Cruise Guide, who was
perfect in History and Geographic Explanations. One Piano Player and an Glass-blower, who shows, how to made Glass blowing Arts. No Shows, of Course. It was an River Vessel of small Size.
Sailing from Eberbach on the River Neckar to Neckargem|nd, Heidelberg, Worms, Mainz, Boppard, Koblenz, Cochem,
Bernkastel, Trier. An Neckar/Rhine/Moselle Cruise. Very interesting and in the early Autumn is the best Time to do this.
32 Americans, Rest from Germany (68). All very friendly and nice People. No Question, the Cruise was an great Offer for
an very little amount of Money. My Wife and i am happy...
