Swan Hellenic
MV Minerva
Your Rating:
Reviewed by: Robert Latham
# previous cruises: 10 to 20
Date of Trip: March 5, 2009
Itinerary: Antarctic
The cruise we embarked on was 'Cape to Cape' (Ushuaia to Cape
Town). Minerva is a ship that has not got the performance to carry out set itineraries - if you want to be disappointed by missed ports of call or landings - this is the ship. We were constantly lied to by Swan Hellenic and Expedition staff. We did not land at Tristan da Cunha - too rough (Swan Hellenic), ideal conditions (administrator of Tristan da Cunha) it was flat calm and photographs to prove it - it was a time issue. We should have had two days in Tristan da Cunha.
OK.
Service good. Food poor.
OK nothing more.
What entertainment there was poor the two so called 'opera singers' were flat.
Itinerary was effectively abandoned and so should the ship.
Generally past Swan Hellenic sycophants - the others like myself are all in the process of or preparing to take Swan Hellenic to court for breach of contract.
