Itinerary: Orient

Overview
It was the best holiday we have ever had.You could not fault the service, the food or the entertainment and the intimacy of the Gemini was something we really appreciated as we were able to get to know people.

Public Areas
Every public area was small and uncrowded.I really enjoyed the pool area.

Food and Service
The Ocean palace served 5 star food and the service was superb. The buffet was great if you were in a hurry to go somewhere and the choice was amazing. You could eat outside or in from the buffet.

Cabins
The cabin was a great size with plenty of wardrobe space and the bed was very spacious and comfortable. The cabin was not noisy and one person could easily fit in the shower even if it did mean the water did spill out of the shower.

Entertainment
We attended all the shows and the standard of the shows was very good. The dancers were great but the singing a little flat. The best show of the cruise was done by the staff on the Friday night. It was great to see the talented crew in a different light. The entertainment manager on board the Gemini was superb and was a show all by himself.

Activities
It was hard to leave the ship to visit,Kuala Lumpur,Penang,Phi Phi island and Phuket and Malacca but we were glad we did because they were all such completely different contrasts. We tok mostly tours because of the short shore time available and this way we were able to see more. The pool was lovely and I only had time to visit the well equipped gym once!We did not check out the childcare facilities.

Who Goes
Many of the people on board were just middle class people like us and as there is no class distinction on the Gemini as far as eating places goes and the fact that there were only a small number of passengers you were able to get to know people.
