Itinerary: Orient
Visit a new port every day on a 7 day cruise, Leaving and starting from Phuket or Singapore is recommended. Multi cultural harmony of crew is amazing. Mostly Australian and UK passengers, some European and Asian, very few Americans. Excellent value for money, Star Cruises will get our family's patronage again.
Deck 5 below the life boats very quiet, comfortable and relaxing.
Buffet in Marainers catered for all tastes, our preference was to be waited on in the Ocean Palace a la carte.
Two berth deluxe adequate for 2, fortunately our children had their own cabin, 4 berth would be squeezy.
Cruise Director was a pain but all the rest "The Fun Bunch" and entertainers were that, entertaining.
Not much activity for teens, though visiting new ports daily kept us busy. Facilities on board satisfactory. Visits to Kuala Lumpur & Pangkor Island not recommended, all other Ports recommended. Beer's $4.00 a can, cheapest wine $16.00 a bottle, soft drinks, $2.00 a can, all charged to your cabin.
Some of the crew were much more personable than some of the passengers though definitely no problems. Not a huge amount of socializing during day possible due to Port visits. There were no social mis-fits and some very funny people.
