Overview
A cruise is a great way to see Hawaii, I just don't think the MS Patriot is the way to go. Older ship, no/little pool activities and limited night life. The entertainment was good, but that's only one hour of the entire day. Then some filler entertainment; jugglers, comedy acts etc. The food was getting better as the week progressed, but help in the kitchen is still needed. The staff was friendly, but the whole experience wasn't worth the money. To the point, nothing fancy to the ship, just an floating hotel that needs HELP!

Public Areas
They had two pools about the size of my bathtub and one was not working. O.K. maybe not that small but pretty close. No casino, but you could walk on the promenade deck, YEA! No music at the pool, just a below average atmosphere. Nothing exciting to see or do. Luckily, everyday you were at a port and could get off "old blue", our nickname for the ship.

Food and Service
The service was great. Extremely friendly and helpful. The food needs a lot of HELP.

Cabins
The cabin was a good size with a bathtub/shower.

Entertainment
The Ray Kennedy Entertainers were great. Energetic and lively. The other entertainers were O.K., not the main attraction, but worth your time.

Activities
Get off the ship and go drive around, Hawaii is beautiful. Rent a car on your own, do not rent one from the ship. They have rental cars when you dock. Go any make your own arrangements, saves $$$$$.

Who Goes
We were honeymooners, so we were shocked when we boarded the ship. The average age was 65+, which is fine, but we did not expect this. For our dinner meal we asked to be seated with passengers in their late 20's early 30's. Well, I don't think they could find any in that age group. Our table consisted of a 70 year old couple, a couple in their 40's and a couple in their late 50's. I definitely think this cruise caters to the retired population, if you want that then great. One example, our show was suppose to be after dinner at 10pm. Well, the second night they changed the time to 7pm, before dinner, because people where complaining they could not stay awake. Take my comments with a grain of salt and make your own decisions. We were in Hawaii for three weeks, Luckily my entire honeymoon wasn't on "old blue".
