# previous cruises: 3
Date of Trip: July 10, 1998
Itinerary: Europe
Sailing the Amalfi Coast; starting and ending in Rome. Itinerary
can't be beat. Ship looked a little worn but the personnel are wonderful.
Food is very good and plentiful without the overkill of the bigger ships.
We are planning our 3rd Windstar Cruise for this summer.
This cruise line is perfect for us. All areas are well-kept and clean. Casino is small but you know that when you research about the ship.
Open seating for dinner which is nice if you travel and want
to meet another couple or two. Food is very good, prepared to order and
presented beautifully. Don't expect gourmet cuisine but all meals are very
good.
Cabins are fully equipped with all the gadgets of home (TV, VCR,
hair dryer, etc.) Lots of room and good use of space for storage. Bathrooms
are very well laid out and clean all the time.
Did not attend any of the shows. Staff and crew of both the
Wind Star and Wind Spirit (Athens to Istanbul) are wonderful. They will
remember your name from the first day. They are attentive without fawning
and try very hard to make your stay more than pleasant.
We stopped at all ports and took the excursions on some of them.
Never went to the Health Club or Spa. Swam off the aft deck a couple of
times in the Aegean Sea. No children on either cruise I took. Wind Star
Cruises are not for children and the passengers I have met wouldn't like to
have them around.
Between 35 and 75 I would guess. We are up scale, educated,
traveled and enjoy casual elegance without the bother of tuxedo, gowns and
theme nights. Has more of a feel of a private yacht. Have kept up
friendships with couples we have met on board.
